March 8, 201016 yr Travel by ship would actually take quite a while in the physical world. Therefore I recommend that when traveling by ship, once you reach destination, that the run points be reset to maximum.Should be equivalent to "rest" all the way to maximum run points.Should be very easy to code, and corresponds to real world. Comments?
March 8, 201016 yr I am looking at this and I am thinking about the ways it would be over-powered...I am sure having this will make something too easy but I just cannot remember one...hold on. [Guild Wars 2-In game screenshot, the MMORPG you are waiting for. Click for thread.
March 8, 201016 yr I'm a little sick of getting back from Karamja, only to be fresh out of running ability. SUPPORT! ~D. V. March 9, 201016 yr I like this idea but I think it can be fleshed out a bit more. How about: -A trip on a ship gives back up to 20 Run Energy Points at Agility Level 1.-As a player gains more Agility levels, ship trips will give back more Run Energy Points, all the way up to a full 100 points. -To avoid Overpowering, Run Energy will be restored on a ship trip only once every 30 seconds. This is to avoid a player taking multiple trips back and forth to quickly gain back Energy points and abusing the system. This, like running, involves the Agility skill and gives a bonus to P2P players while still updating F2P players. And giving Agility another bonus is always a good thing.
March 9, 201016 yr Fine by me, Fellfrosch6 ... 'Specially seeing as those P2P bonuses wouldn't work on F2P worlds anyway. ~Mr. "Works for me!" March 10, 201016 yr Author I like this idea but I think it can be fleshed out a bit more. And giving Agility another bonus is always a good thing. The whole point is that if you REALLY took a ship, it would take a long time so you would be rested. And it doesn't take that long in the game to select "rest" after all. Like what, 20 seconds? So it is merely a convenience such that if you take a ship, you don't sit on the dock for 20 seconds. That's all.I guess I don't see how the agility skill would correlate to resting while riding on a ship.As for taking a ship multiple times to gain back run energy -- wouldn't it be faster to just sit on the dock and rest?
March 10, 201016 yr PraetorDei and Fellfrosch6, I just thought of a possible balance for this... How about Full Recharge, but then you must wait 3 minutes in order to get the full recharge again on a boat trip? And if you took a boat trip sooner, your character experiences some kind of "Jet Lag" (boat style, though) and doesn't get the recharge on that boat trip? ~D. V.
