Starting Quest problem

Featured Replies

Hi All

I cannot seem to start the quest Eadgar's Ruse

I have everything completed and the correct levels to do this quest but Sanfew the person to talk to

only talks to me about potions and stuff and does not offer a task to do.

How do I start this quest ?

I bet the answer is really stupid as always :)

Are you sure you're talking to the right guy?

I always get the guy at the prayer altar and Sanfew mixed up. If it's not this, then i'm not too sure...

Start by talking to Sanfew who can be found upstairs in the herblore shop in Taverley

Talk about potions, he'll tell you to get an herb. Make sure you freed mad Eadgar from the Troll Stronghold.

Yeah common mistake is people have not freed Eadgar.

When you do troll stronghold and find the soldier you're saving Eadgar is in the cell next to him, you don't HAVE to free him to complete Troll Stronghold, but if you don't free him you can't do Eadgar's Ruse.

Also as the above guy said you have to talk about herbs with Sanfew as the whole quest premise is you are sent to Eadgar to get a goutweed, a rare herb.
