Scams by the Second Trade Screen?

Featured Replies

One thing I've noticed is that almost all scams these days are perpetrated because people fail to check out the second trade screen. A simple solution to this would be to add a MANDATORY 3-6 second timer on the second screen before they can accept the second time. This would nearly ensure that no one would get scammed by this method, unless they are completely ignorant and just scream at how annoying the timer is clicking on accept until it runs out...which I assume will still happen. In any case, it'd be a small inconvience, like a bank PIN, but well worth it.

It's not Jagex's job to protect people from their own stupidity.

Yes, but it'll surely help profits.

So it benefits them both ways, in a business sense, and in helping customers.

Also, remember how young a lot of the audience is. A little extra protection couldn't hurt.

ive suggested something like this months ago, i think its a good idea, but mine was more like: when something i changed in the first trade screen, it flashes, and you cant click accept for 3 secs. good idea though.

cool idea, but it would make it a little annoying for those of us who know how to trade the right way. maybe make it optional.

Well, if it was optional, those that DO need it would probably not use it. Because they think their smart enough not to get scammed.

i wait the 5 seconds anyways over checking each screen 2-3 times so i wouldn't really make a difference for the people that me which are the ones you are smart enough not to get scamed. i still say it's a good idea tho

You have the right, and people have the right to hate you for it.

Thus, the circle of life is complete.

nah dont like that.. if it was optional i could put up with it eg:turn it off

if the new players need protection put it on tut island so they know about it

Protection on by default would be ok, as long as you could switch it off.

As I said, it's not jagex's job to protect you from yourself, it's yours, but it would be a nice gesture on their part. They have already created the confirmation screen. If you choose not to read it, it's not their fault.
