I was just killing lvl 21 guards in varock with the earth cast spell and i hade a eath staff with air runes and death runes. But everytime i casted the spell it gave me def exp instead og magic exp and i dont know why so i could use some help please. any info would be great i dont want my def up i am a pure so hit me up and thank you

You probably have the defensive casting thing selected. Go on your spellbook and check that the little shield icon which means you get defence xp isn't selected.
