wat is that? vls alches for 180k, guthan's pl8 168k. i checked what i kept and i keep vls but i didnt. does vls deg have a lower alch value than the normal one or something? po'd at this.

It is my understanding that a lot of items that degrade with no option for recharging lose almost all of their high alch value when they start degrading.

 

I think Jagex does it so players don't use the weapon until shortly before it vanishes, and then alch it for the 180k. I mean, 180k isn't much, but that is just my guess.

i have alched statius platelegs deg before. barrows doesnt lose it's alch value with it degrades to 100 :s. maybe it was a bug?

Completely possible it was a bug, but I have the feeling there is an explanation to this that we are missing somehow.

 

Have any of the other PvP armor/weapons you've lost acted in a similar fashion, or have you lost them?

 

I've done far more research for this thread than many other, and I can honestly say I'm at a loss. If degraded PvP equipment is always destroyed upon death, no one is ready to confirm it (RS wiki, Rune Tips, among others)

i've died with statius and kept platelegs. i think this is bs. will ask forum.

The Statius's platelegs have higher alch value. Not so sure about the guthan's platebody, but I remember most barrows chestplates have huge alch values. Just use the 'items kept on death' screen next time?
