Tip It Guide not working?

Yeah, so I am doing Elemental Workshop 3, and i was following the tip.it guide diligently, and everything worked out until i came to puzzle 4 of the guide. When I followed the exact steps, it was completely different than where it should've been.

 

Here is the link to the tip.it quest guide. Skip down to puzzle 4 and show the puzzle 4 examples. Look at the first picture of that example. That picture shows what it is supposed to look like BEFORE you use the combination of steps.

 

And just to verify for everyone that it is the exact same before i start the puzzle 4, here is a picture.

 

Now that everything was in place, i tried Tip.it's combination about 5 times, all of those times ended different from the combination result on Tip.it. This is how mine ended when i used the combination.

 

It is very strange how it is different because I followed the exact code that they gave, and had a completely different result.

 

This is the combination of steps : C, 4, B, 6, E, 4, F, 6, A, 5, E, 6, B, 2, F, 6, B, 2, F, 6, C, 5, E, 6, F, 4, E, 5, B, DO NOT RESET

 

Someone please help me out as its taking me ages to do this tedious quest :(

I unfortunatly don't have the answer but just wanted to confirm that it's wrong, i did the quest the other day and the tip.it guide wouldn't work for me there either. So something is miswritten or something in the guide. I ended up working it out myself which took waaaaaaaaaaaaaaay to long. (2 hours <_< )

This quest has indeed given us a lot of trouble. The guide has already gone through multiple major edits and it's still hard to be clear on the steps, not to mention it being too easy to lose your spot in the puzzle "code" (1,d,3,f,2,b,ect...)

 

I actually found time to do the quest and review our guide for errors a couple days ago. I found the steps needed to complete puzzles 1-3 was good but I got terribly lost for the last couple of puzzles, 4 & 5. Believe it or not I managed to complete the puzzle without know what I did right; so I was unable to find what may or may not be wrong in the guide.

 

 

Since this is a Help & Advice topic, I won't go without giving as much help as I can :blink:

 

I know you must get the puzzle to look like this for #4:

 

 

If possible, I'm going to try the puzzle after completing the quest, and figure out what needs changing.

I just confirmed these for myself. Next time, could someone put up

some warnings if it doesn't work?
