xxtheonexx2
I was reading over a farming guide and they had a tip saying "Pay farmers except for Calquat, Palm and Yew seeds.'' Is it safe not to pay the farmers for those 3 trees? Because with paying the farmer for yews or magic seeds, the gp per xp are really close, so magics are faster and better. But if i do not have to pay the farmer, yews become alot more cheaper. Any advice? Thanks.
massicist
With yews, I imagine it's because the payment (10 cactus spines) is far too expensive to justify saving a seed (58k currently). While I'm not sure, I don't think Calquat get diseased very much, though someone would have to verify that. As for palm, the payment's fairly cheap so I'd just pay for it.Personally I used payments for all my farming- not a money-saving matter, just didn't want to lose exp each day through dying trees. Sinkhan
As mentioned in zaaps's farming guide, the rough death rate for anything with just supercompost is about 10%. Therefore, you should be only paying for a tree if the payment is less than 10% of the cost of the seed, since you only stand to lose that anyway with supercompost. Of course, massicist brings up an important point: Farming can't be constantly trained and most of the xp comes once or twice a day through tree runs. If you want to guarantee that you runs will be fruitful (mind the pun  ), then just pay them regardless. Something to fill my sig with until I find a replacement. Also check out my blug
