Crysisman666
Hi! I bougth lots of iron, 2x as much of coal, nature runes and fire staff. I'm now ready to super heat and i superheated around 100 bars, but now Im starting to wondering is this:1. Will i get any profit of this?2. i want to train mage. is this a good way?3. should i rather use furnace? thanks 44 Ranged, 40 Crafting.Max. hit: 207 (Clan wars)Max. hit: 214 (Dungeoneering)That's all folks! Zaaps1
Profit is easy to calculate. Add the price of 1 iron ore, 2 coal, and 1 nature then subtract it from the cost of 1 steel bar. If the number is negative, you lose money, if it's positive, you will profit. This is assuming, of course, prices don't drastically change between when you buy and when you sell, so keep your eyes on the prices. It's a decent way to train magic, esp. in f2p. If you superheat iron ore -> iron bars (instead of steel), you will get 90k mage xp/hr as opposed to the ~50k you're getting by heating steel, but you will also always lose money. And don't use a furnace, the magic xp makes superheating worth it. ~It's Super Effective! Zaaps1
You probably lost 40k because you didn't buy everything at GE mid, or had a calculator mistake, etc. ~It's Super Effective! bluetiger585
I just mined the iron and superheated while mining. I equipped the fire staff and had rune pic in invent. It made me a profit of about 100gp every iron bar- made me 800k and got me from 43-59 magic, and about 35-44 smith. Not to mention the 40-53 mining. Actually you are wrong, you can get 125k magic xp/hr doing iron not 90k. Then make back the money you just lost by mining iron in drarven mine by hidden entrance 200k gp /hr  1,000 F2P Total Level Reached 10/8/10 ! Zaaps1
Eh, when I tested I only came around with 90k, but I suppose if you're getting that high, it's possible. Point is, superheating iron incurs a loss, but is much faster than steel. ~It's Super Effective!
