HELP HUGE VIRUS

OK im not a computer wiz at all, and i dont know anyone who is, but i have a huge virus on my computer. The virus is a trick, it tells you its spy ware, but its not. Its called SpyAxe3.0. I tried using the recovery CD, so i can whipe everything off the harddrive, but the virus some how got my computer to reject it. I called bell and they told me to go to a site to download MSN premium. Im going to download it now, but i dont have full consent that it will work. So PLEASE! if you think you can help me, please please please do so!!!

Rename svchosts.dll (this is not to be confused with legitimate svchost[Caution: ExecutableFile]) to something (e.g. killme.dll).  Note the datestamp on the file ... it will be the day of infection.







Reboot your system







Delete killme.dll  (you can't delete svchosts.dll directly, as it is "in use")







Go to control panel / Internet Options / Programs / Manage Add - ons 







Disable BHOHomepage







This should pretty much take care of it.  Start running the usual anti-virus/spyware tools to get rid of the vestiages.  Good luck.

you shouldn't download anything from spyware... anyways if your not careful you get a lop.com infection too.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

try what the above post told you to do - if it don't work then dl HJT and i give u my canned for smitfraud/ spysheriff. (you only need the smitrem)
