Mouse Wheel doesn't work properly with Java

Featured Replies

Yesterday I installed the latest Java update (6.21) after having 6.20 for a while, and noticed that my mouse's scroll wheel no longer worked properly with java applications.

Now when I use the wheel when on a java application, the rest of the page scrolls down with it.

Is there anything I can do to fix it? I haven't tried uninstalling Java because I don't know how to on Windows 7. Java doesn't appear on "Programs and Features" and there doesn't seem to be any other way to do it.

System restore didn't undo anything either.

One thing I did try was moving the Java folder and installing it again, but it gave me an error 1723.

The problem is with all browsers I've tried so far, and stuff like arrow keys and typing works fine.

It's not a problem on Runescape, but since I play Funorb regularly, it's very hard to ignore.

I don't really know what information someone might need, so I haven't posted anything yet

are you clicked into the java app?

Sometimes on newer java the keyboard can be focused bu not the mouse I find. Which results in typing working but mouse still effects browser.

And Windows 7 > Programs and features > Unistall a programe Java is there. Currently it would read Java Update 21

It's always been like that though =/ Even when it worked properly

Most things I have installed aren't listed

If something is installed properly it should be in there, if its not that mean it is not in the registary properly which means the computer won;t recognise it properly in all contexts.

If hardly anything is listed I'd say you registary is screwed which can become problematic.

Most of the things I've installed are in Program Files (x86), alot of the things on that list are just in Program Files

Could that be why?

No.

I have windows 64 bit and thus have program files (x86) and everything is on the list.

Well thanks to your help (knowing that something was wrong in it not being listed and that there was no other way to uninstall it) I went to find something else that could uninstall it, and found CCleaner. That found Java and uninstalled it so I could reinstall 6.20 and now everything seems to be working fine again :D

ccleaner is good I use it regularly to clean up temp files and registary issues
