darthoctopus
not sure whether this is a bit obscure, but... When i switched from the default Radeon driver to fglrx, xcompmgr started to misbehave real bad. I ended up with lots of fragments of windows all over the place and after killall xcompmgr, any GL app i ran went very slowly. anyone knows what happened? am i using an outdated xcompmgr or is it a driver problem? I'm using xorg. my X11 rpms are: [joel@172 ~]$ rpm -qa | grep xorg xorg-x11-libs-6.8.2-31 fonts-xorg-base-6.8.2-1 xorg-x11-6.8.2-31 xorg-x11-Mesa-libGLU-6.8.2-31 fonts-xorg-100dpi-6.8.2-1 xorg-x11-devel-6.8.2-31 xorg-x11-Mesa-libGL-6.8.2-31 xorg-x11-font-utils-6.8.2-31 xorg-x11-xfs-6.8.2-31 xorg-x11-xauth-6.8.2-31 xorg-x11-twm-6.8.2-31 fonts-xorg-75dpi-6.8.2-1 xorg-x11-xdm-6.8.2-31 xorg-x11-tools-6.8.2-31 and my driver rpms are: [joel@172 ~]$ rpm -qa | grep fglrx ati-fglrx-8.14.13.1-0.lvn.5.4 kernel-module-fglrx-2.6.11-1.1369_FC4smp-8.14.13.1-0.lvn.5.4 anyone? Lews_Therin
You are more likely to get help on a forum dedicated to your distro. However, I've never had good experiences with fglrx...no games or comp managers worked for me until I just got an nVidia card.
