Does magic assisting work in that it can also enchant jewelry?

Such as, if I buy an onyx gem for example, get assisted by a crafter to make it into an amulet, then get magic assistance to enchant it into an amulet of fury?

It works, but I don't know why you would want to do that. Onyx has a much higher street value than fury last I checked.
