Shiny
Currently, my computer is broken, and I am in Tip.It with an OS launched off a disk (Ubuntu to be exact). The reason for this is Windows is failing to start due to Error 0xc000000e. It appears winload[Caution: Executable File] is either broken or missing. I have since followed the instructions - Insert your install disc and click repair computer - I have done all of that, however, the Windows install disc repair did not fix the problem. Any suggestions? Do I have a failing hard drive? What should I do to back up the computer- I've already copy + pasted the whole Users folder onto my computer, anything else? Because someone will ask here are my specs:3.0Ghz AMD Phenom II X41.0TB WD Caviar Green HDD4.0GB Kingston HyperX RAM4870HD 1.0GB graphics card. Anything else, just ask. I'm seeking to dual boot Ubuntu and Leopard OSX on my mac laptop, however I don't have boot camp assistant on the laptop, or an install disc. What can I do to create a partition? Sbrideau
You should be able to repair that with EasyBCD.
Shiny
Okay, this might annoy you but what is EasyBCD, where do I get it (is it free or will I need to 'acquire' it) and what will it do?
Low C
http://download.cnet.com/EasyBCD/3000-2094_4-10556865.html http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/EasyBCD That's what a quick google search revealed to me, I have no idea the specifics but that wiki article should give you a decent background explanation. Shiny
I need it to run and repair my computer from Ubuntu.
Sbrideau
Actually I have never used it, that's what a google search gave me as well, but I know someone can tell you in the morning.
Shiny
I think i'll leave this one to my I.T specialist. It isn't overly hard, it seems, but very complicated and runs risk of destorying my data, apparently. Moving onto backing up data, and dual booting a Leopard Mac with Ubuntu. How would I go about backing up data - So far I have literally just copy and pasted the Users folder into my external HDD. My Mac laptop doesn't have bootcamp on it, and I want to dual boot with Ubuntu. Answers?
