February 16, 201115 yr to your first two quetiions: yes i would recommend using ice barrage over fire surge. costs an extra 250k an hour or so, but it nulls all damage by rex, and makes it a lot harder to get comboed. once you get experienced i really recommend a cannon, it's huge How to Chin Nechyraels for fast XP and profit

I just want to get comfortable with it before using a cannon, which shouldnt take long seeing as i have solo maged and hybrid before. EDIT- Did my first trip (ended up just using surge) got 4.5m in just under an hour. I could have stayed longer, had more brews and ovls but ran out of prayer, so now I just have to tweak my setup and I should be all set. In other words: We got a ban hammer in varrock mines.
