I am currently doing Desert Treasure quest and due to the update on ashes I tried to use impious ash for the quest which won't work at all and I'm not sure if others will work also except the ash you get after burning a log. Can you update the quest information to specify what type of ash you really need so others won't have the same problem.

I'm pretty sure anything that required ashes will only take the ashes obtained from burning a log - for the purposes of quests at least.

As stated "ashes" means only ashes, not Imp/demoic etc. Since it's a bit redundent I'll lock up the thread but if you feel that this should be unlocked for further discussion, or anything else dont hesitate to PM myself or any other crew member.
