I'm sure we've all heard of them; the big toplists that are on the radio at the end of the year. You've got various per country, but you always got one that's the biggest (not amount of songs wise). Here in Holland the biggest is the "Radio 2 top 2000". What songs are in the top 25, and what personal top 10 did you submit?

In Holland the top 25 is:

1. Boudewijn de Groot - Avond (1997)

2. Queen - Bohemian Rhapsodey (1975)

3. The Eagles - Hotel Californea (1977)

4. Deep Purple - Child in Time (1972)

5. Led Zeppelin - Stairway to Heaven (1971)

6. Meat Loaf - Paradise by the Dashboard Light (1978)

7. Coldplay - Clocks (2003)

8. Animals - House of the Rising Sun (1964)

9. Alan Parson's Project - Old and Wise (1982)

10. Guns n' Roses - November Rain (1992)

11. Robbie Williams - Angels (1998)

12. Pink Floyd - Shine on you Crazy Diamond (1975)

13. Golden Earring - Radar Love (1973)

14. Beatles - Hey Jude (1968)

15. John Lennon - Imagine (1971)

16. Pink Floyd - Wish you were Here (1975)

17. U2 - One (1992)

18. Rolling Stones - Angie (1973)

19. Dire Straits - Brothers in Arms (1985)

20. Metallica - Nothing Else Matters (1992)

21. AC/DC - Whole Lotta Rosie (1978)

22. Procol Harum - A whiter shade of pale (1967)

23. Katie Melua - Nine million bicycles (2005)

24. Doors - Riders on the storm (1971)

25. Pink Floyd - Comfortably numb (1979)

That's our list. It's pretty decent, maybe with exception of Katie Melua, it's a nice song and it's just hip. But I don't think it proves to be one of the better songs out there, in my opinion it's a bit too simple. I also have strong doubts about Clocks on number 7, and of course Avond by Boudewijn de Groot is one big bias. And while I am a fan of Pink Floyd, three songs of them in the top 25 is a bit too much.

Of course I voted aswell, I gave a pretty standard and dull list; here it is.

Beatles - Hey Jude

Bob Dylan - Like a Rolling Stone

Deep Purple - Child in Time

Dire Straits - Sultans of Swing

Eagles - Hotel California

Jimi Hendrix Experience - Purple Haze

John Lennon - Imagine

Led Zeppelin - Stariway to Heaven

Pink Floyd - Shine on you Crazy Diamond

Rolling Stones - Paint it Black

What are your lists?
