Returning Player (2008)

Hey,

 

I haven't played since 2008 (I think..around when Godwars was the 'endgame'). I've been reading around and there seems to be a huge amount of content since then, and I find it quite hard to get a summary of things added.

Anybody can link me/post a general list of MAIN things added to the game since then (huge I know) so I can read up on them?

 

From reading, I see theres a new boss in GWD, new weapons (chaotic), new skill (dungeoneering), but I'm sure there's many other things. If it helps I'm not really interested in non-combat changes (i.e. Herblore, Mining etc.) more of Slayer / combat / boss changes in general.

I'm at Karamja ranging lessers... if I don't kill him in time people run underneath my foe and steel my arrows. Why! Have some decency and let me finish off the monster and get my arrows that I earned you PIG! Otherwise i have to run out to grab my arrows, get hit, and go back.. and guess what!, by then they stole my lesser! BASTARD!

Well, Slayer-related herblore-wise, there are new Potions for Fighting like Extremes, Super Antifire, Overloads, and Spec Restores.

Really? Cause as I recall it was you who was the one cussing me at base. Also, re-read what you just said: one 15 second delay (which is an exaggeration to begin with) ruins floor times? You are beyond ridiculous.

For Slayer, there is a new Slayer Master called Kuradal who is Duradel's daughter. She requires 75+ Slayer and 110+ CB. She has her own dungeon which you can use on-task, which includes inside Hellhounds, Greater Demons, Blue Dragons, Gargoyles, Abyssal Demons, Dark Beasts, Iron and Steel Dragons. The monsters inside drop the Ferocious Ring (5), which has 5 teleports to Kuradal, adds 40 dmg to every hit in her dungeon, and acts as a ring of life in her dungeon only. To get to the Ancient Caverns, finish FM Barbarian Training and use the Whirlpool (no familiars allowed when using Whirlpool). GO down stairs, run South past Brutal Green Dragons, Skeletal Spirits, and Warriors to the Waterfiends. Go south then up the ladder to Kuradal. NW of her stairs, there is a Fairy Ring you can use by fixing it using 5 Mushrooms.

 

Effigies were introduced in 2010. They have two skills you can nourish with the Effigies. It has 4 stages and you can use the assist system to nourish it if you don't have 91,93, 95, 97 in the skill on the bottom. They leave behind a Dragonkin Lamp which gives experience in any skill you see on the option.

 

Dungeoneering came out in April 11, 2010. It is an end-game skill, which means it includes using every skill to pass dungeons in a land called Daemonheim. Monsters inside range from level 2 to over 500. At the end is a boss you fight. THe rewards are incredible, including Chaotic Weaponry and Armour at 80 Dung, Frost Dragons at 85 Dung which is the best money in rs from camping, and many others.

 

Also in 2010, all dmg was increase by 10x and hp by 10x (now called Constitution).

 

Ancient Curses, a new prayer book for Prayer, was released in December 2009. The strongest spell is Turmoil, which adds huge benefits to attacking, including increasing your str by 10% of opponent's str with a base 23% increase.
