The Road to my Max Cape

Commutative

Recommended Posts

Okay, the goal is to get a max cape (which I assume is a little self explanitory from the title). I am interested in whether the plan I'm setting off with is the most efficient to my playing style (if that makes sense). I hope this will make more sense as the rest of this post is read. PS. If this post looks a little bulky, I'll try and change it a bit ;)

I think a good time would be to say I value my time at ~1M an hour as a nice benchmark. Levels in brackets :)

I currently have 99 in:

Magic, Ranged, Cooking

Skills That I require Help with:

Attack(82), Strength(92), Defence(92), Hitpoints(96), Slayer(79): I assume the obvious is to train melee to 99 through slayer? Or is there a better way to do this? If so, what would be the optimal block list for Kuradal?

Prayer(95): Again, the obvious is Frost dragon bones? (I have a bonecrusher)

Herblore(88): The plan was to make 1.5k of each Extreme and turn to 1.5k Overloads, 5k super prayer potions. And finish off the straggling xp difference with most likely super Antifires. (I have a Herbicide).

Summoning(83): Hmm, the main question is what is the best way to use charms, so far I've only been using my crimsons on Granite Lobsters and my blues on Lava Titan's. Again, not sure how good this is.

Firemaking(79): I worked out it would take 3 penance horns to get to 99 from here. Would it be better to use magic or yew logs(or even possible others?) to get to 99 in a cost effective manner?

Mining(77): I know LRC Coal is probably the best until 80. When doing LRC Gold though, even though I already have 99 magic, should i still be superheating(and would this make me less money or save me "smithing money" also considering I'd be wearing the mining outfit rather than Gold Gauntlets).

Smithing(82): Superheating in LRC or conventional smithing? I know conventionally 88->99 with addy plates(I think)

Agility(72): Quite frankly, not a clue XD

Fishing(76): Again, not a clue.

Runecrafting(72): Guess what! No clue!

Woodcutting(88): Is powercutting teaks with the new deposit boxes the best? And is the Lumberjack gear worth getting?

Hunter(80): I did red salamanders to 80 a very long time ago. Is the herblore habitat minigame the best way to go for this?

Thieving(78): Pyramid Plunder or Monkey Knife Fighters?

Fletching(86): Cutting/Stringing Magic Longbows?

Construction(75): Are Oak Larders the better option over Mahogany Dining Tables or is there another method which is better?

Crafting(83): Blue dragonhide bodies? Air battlestaffs?

Farming(73): I was just going to do Palm/ Mage/ Spirit Trees to 99 or is that a monumental waste of money? :P

Well, thats the breakdown? Any opinions would be really helpful :) Erm, I think that is all... And please none of this "You should be going cave crawlers for max efficiency" etc.

Many thanks! :D

Agility should be done at the Ape Atoll agility course until 80 I think where you should pie for advanced gnome course. At 85 you can then boost for advanced barbarian course - im not %100 sure this is the best method though.

You can use the penance horn on agility if you want.

Mahogany tables are expensive but fast xp, oak dungeon doors is generally the most used method.

Do herblore habitat all the way.

Farming do trees and herbs, get the juju potions from hunter at herblore habitat and use the one that increases herb yield.

Fishing - Fish at Otto's Grotto with the barbarian fishing, look up a guide on youtube for a few fast methods. Don't forget to use urns.

When you say this, do you mean every aspect of the minigame? Or am I just catching/doing only certain things?

The rest of them: Thank you very much, though doesn't Barbarian Fishing use alot of money?

Crafting: water or air battlestaves. Just buy from zaff and GE daily, and you should get it in a few months. This way it won't be too much of a grind too. Dependiing on your impatience and income, opt for water bstaves, since you will break even with them (last time I checked)

Construction: Start buying zombie impling jars from the GE when their price is decent. Save up for xp weekend, then get 99 in an hour or two. Yes, again, this requires patience and some trust that there will be another xp weekend. However, if you play this smart, you can get 99 con fairly cheap (7-10 gp/xp), and at an xp rate of around 1.5m xp per hour (including opening jars).

Do not make super prayers. Grinding the wyvern bones takes aaaages. If you've got enough money, do overloads all the way. It's nice to have a giant stack for whatever you do later on.

For melee etc: indeed, slayer. Use effigies on RC once it's at a decent lvl (80 or so). Also, save up all your effigies until you can use them. (stews are you friend).

I'd suggest to finish off rc at cave crawlers, since it will also help termendously for agility, wc, fish and mining (all slow skills). However, you'd need 92+ in those skills to be able to use all the effigies efficiently.

Don't do pal mage whatever for farming. Since maxing will take time, take your time for farming and just do torstol farming runs with juju pots. Very good money, and pretty good xp (120k xp per hour).
