What order to train skills

Featured Replies

So I was wondering what people's thoughts were on what order skills should be trained? Obv there will be some jumping back and forth but at the same time their are clearly skills that should be focused on in the beginning as a newb. I've already been convinced that farming is one of those skills. Who wants to take a stab at this one?

There are skills that should be thought about but not necessarily trained as such for instance summoning it is important to gather charms as you train combat and charm drops should be a factor in deciding where to train your combat skills. Slayer should be started fairly early although efficiency wise I am not exactly sure as to when you should hit slayer. Being able to get into dungeoneering early on will be useful having a chaotic weapon to use as soon as you hit 80 attack will be a huge benefit. You should aim for a reasonable magic level early on as 60+ will give you access to most teleportation spells which is a great advantage. Don't neglect range, it is amazing how many high levels are 90+ melee's with something like 60 - 80 range. Access to prayers such as turmoil or piety are incredibly useful for speeding up your combat training 43 prayer is a big help when fighting quest bosses and taking on stronger monsters. Herblore like prayer will give huge boosts to how fast you can train your other combat stats but also like prayer is a very expensive skill to train so as a complete newb without donations it will be difficult to earn the money for these upgrades. Agility is nice for finding your way around runescape and various quests but I wouldn't give it a particularly high priority.

In general I would suggest training your combats to a reasonable level, say: 60 Attack, Strength and 40+ Defence with a range level between 30 and 60 and a magic level of 60+ having in the mix a reasonable summoning level will make your day to day runescaping much easier. On top of this aim to train your farm the big levels here are 62 farming for snapdragon herbs and 85 for torstol herbs both of which will make you a fair whack of money. In between farming it would be a good idea to train hunter as this will give you access to herblore habitat and Juju potions increasing farming profits. As to your other levels train them to meet quest requirements before other considerations going for enough questpoints and the requirements to do the quest 'While Guthix Sleeps' will give you a nice balance of skills, hopefully by which time your combat stats will be of reasonable calibre and you will be able to take advantage of Tormented Demons as a moneymaker.
