Headphone jack not working with Ubuntu

So, my laptop is a Windows 7/Ubuntu 10.10 dual boot. On Windows 7, my headphone jack works fine, but on Ubuntu, there's no audio. The speakers work on both. I've tried messing around with a few things on terminal, to no avail. Can anyone help me out?

What does your sound preferences look like? What exactly did you try on the terminal? Can you show screenshots of alsamixer and your sound preferences (output) tab?

I just got it to work... I just changed the sound card in the Alsamixer and it worked right away. I could have sworn I tried that before, but it's working now. Thank you anyways, makoto!
