Poem Of the Valheru

Featured Replies

Having just finished reading the Rift War Saga, by Raymond E Fiest, I felt inspired to write a ballad. Below is the first section.

Please tell me what you think.

Poem of the Valheru

Upon a devoid, lifeless land

Came a group of beings, soon to disband

The heated voices, loud and severe

Spoke of lore, long lost to the ear

Soon the group was to divide

Into those who walk and those who ride

Of those who ride, there was but one

The most unlikely, a woman.

Of stunning beauty, unmatched in grace

The calmest, quickest of her race

She led those near, yet drew those remote

Closer to her ne̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Å¾Ã¢er-ending dote

Her father, old and frail for his years

The long lost cause of major fears

Her father was but one nam̮̩̉̉d

The long lost Valheru, he once led.

Those of the others, few knew lore,

Yet all doubted the end of war,

As they all knew to pursue,

The end of it, peace not undue.

Without purpose, they turned outlaws

Searching for a long lost cause,

To regain their position of masters kin

Their lord, the great Draken-Korin.

Thus the reason those saw true,

To break from the clutches of the new,

Order, Calm, both thrown aside,

To dream the dreams of those long died.

They gathered ̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ãâ¹Ãâround the for̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Å¾Ã¢st they knew,

Together they blossomed, yet never grew

Long lost powers, they solely dream̮̩̉̉d

The brotherhood had been misled.

That's real good. I've read the RiftWar Saga at least twice. You've made a nice poem about the Valheru...great job.
