tiny chat problem with web cam

ok, so first what im workin with.

 

i got a emachines et1831-05 64bit windows 7

 

my webcam is a hp 3100.

 

my issue:

when i go to tiny chat to talk with friends if i cam up and use my mic, everybodys sound will stop and i wont hear anything. when i cam up with just the cam, and dont use the mic everything works fine.

(the mic is built in with the webcam, when i try to use my head set mic the same problem occurs.)

anybody experience it and or know how to fix it?
