  1. 1. Do you think this update would be a good idea?

    • Brilliant idea; skilling in RuneScape desperately needs an update like this.

    • Not necessary; skilling is fine as it is, but this still a good idea.

    • Skilling does need to be made more profitable, but this isn't the way to do it.
    • Skilling is fine as it is. No changes necessary.

Simple idea; our characters have 'Training Mode' and 'Artisan Mode'. Or whatever you want to call it.

Training Mode: Whenever we collect resources, or make a finished product, we focus on improving our abilities, experimenting and gaining experience for the next level.

Our characters have been in 'training mode' since the start of Runescape.

Artisan Mode: We collect resources much faster. We can make more useful items with less resources. Making a runeplate from two runite bars or crafting triple bloods is no problem for those with the right level.

The downside? No exp gain.

What do you think?

The idea is, if balanced correctly, using Artisan Mode would have to be profitable; with no exp gain, there would be absolutely no reason to use it if it did not gain money. Prices of goods would drop, but not to the point where Artisan Mode in unprofitable/ less profitable than Training Mode.

It would require more careful balancing than I am capable or qualified to come up with, so I haven't bothered with the specifics.

Also, I previously had another account on these forums with the similar name, but I can't access it for some reason. I'll just stick with this one from now on.

So right now I skill for one hour and get, say 1k blood runes and 10k exp (I'm just throwing this out there).

On your system I want to make money but train too. So I spend one hour making 2k bloods for money, but then I have to spend another hour getting 20k exp to train. So I got twice the money/exp in twice the time.

If someone else can come up with a way to balance this then god bless their soul.
