Runespan ess, it is impossible to tell.

 

Just camp islands with a creatue on it and siphon any nodes that appear on that island. Just look around and see what other people are doing.

Luck be a Lady

The essence in runespan is lost every time you exit the area so it's best not to stock up on it too much (you can always get more as you need it).
