Personal Fitness Blog

Well sup guys.

Over the past 3-4 months I've been trying to work on my personal fitness, so I decided I'd may as well begin a topic about it both for support (which results in me working harder) and suggestions (cause I'm probably doing a lot of stupid things stretching, workouts, and nutrition-wise).

So here's some info about me:

Height: 6' 1.5"

I'm almost 6foot-2inches, but not quite.

I have broad-ish shoulders, but my lower half is on the thinner side.

Weight: 169 lbs

My weight varies ALOT, like last night I was 173 lbs, and when I weighed myself this morning I was 167 lbs.

For the most part, I usually stay somewhere in the 168-170 lbs range.

Just a note on my weight, I have little to no fat on my calves/fore-arms, the majority of my fat is my waist and chest (and a little on my back, but not much).

Age: 17

I have a low metabolism for my age (not one of those types who doesn't have to do anything and stays low-body fat); if I don't watch what I eat, I get fat.

My goals?

Well in general I just want to get to a good point of eating nutritionally in general and just being generally fit.

Beyond that, I'd like to get myself in the 4-5% bodyfat index (I think I'm currently in the 13-15%, but not positive about that).

I have 3/4 of a six-pack and would like to fully tone that out.

I'm unsure of what weight range that would look like or how best to get there (so suggestions would be majorly helpful).

For the most part my eating schedule (on the average day):

Morning:

Coffee (1 or 2 mugs)

Multiple glasses of water (usually 2-3 between 8-10 am; I honestly drink water consistently all day long, I just enjoy being hydrated hahaha)

Lunch-time:

Small portion of food (whatever I'm in the mood for, I usually try to stay away from beefs and the such, but I tend to have to rely on leftovers, so whatever my mom cooks the night before). I usually keep this to one serving, so as to just spike my metabolism until dinner.

Dinner-time:

Medium portion of food (again I'm sort of stuck with whatever my mother makes for dinner, so the most control I usually have is portion-size and if i add things to my meal, like spinach, etc.).

I try to stay away from soda and such for the most part (but on occasion I do drink it).

Average day's workout:

Minimum 2mile run in the morning (usually takes about 12-14 minutes).

Upon returning from my workout I try to do somewhere from 40-90 pushups and 20 elastic-band shoulder workouts.

I stretch after each of these workouts (I don't know the names of what stretches I do, but pretty much arms, and then legs).

Ok, suggestions, go!

Also, I have slight lower-back problems (it hurts every once and a while), so if you guys know of a way to try to work on that (plus I'd just like to work that area out in general, so workout suggestions would also be appreciated).

Sincerely,

Nate (69 Nine)

Today's Workout:

2 mile run

15 regular pushups

15 staggered pushups

20 shoulder-band workouts (it's a variation of a P90x workout)

Today's Food Consumption:

1 mug of coffee

Multiple glasses of water

1 12oz Cherry Coke

1 bowl of beef stroganoff w/ noodles and microwaved raw spinach

So that's up to right now what's gone down today.

I will update after dinner as well.

So you're just looking to lose weight? Looks like you're on the right path :)

Just my personal opinion, I think you should eat more. If you eat properly you shouldn't gain unwanted fat while exercising

Well, I work at a pizzeria, and as a result, the first couple of weeks working there I ended up cutting back on eating (that's what happens when you're around food all the time), and my stomach shrunk.

So even if I ate more, I'd have to spread it out, cause I can only eat small portions without getting stuffed anyways.

And I'm looking to lose weight, whilst still gaining muscle and toning my body (and staying nutritionally healthy).
