December 1, 201213 yr Hi all, Per the title, I'm having issues with RS and SwiftKit. I get the "do not have latest Java" message when I click to play RS through SwiftKit. I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling Java Edition 6 per the knowledgebase several times now. Doublechecked if I can play RS with Internet Explorer, though it's not my browser of choice, and there are absolutely no problems on that front. Any advice will be heartily welcomed. I miss all my little tools
December 1, 201213 yr Have you tried clearing your internet explorer cache it may be a case that installing java did work but the page with the error is saved
December 1, 201213 yr Author Thanks for the quick response! I just tried that, no dice. It's still asking me to update or install Java.
December 1, 201213 yr Author I just checked, and now I get the "update Java" message in Internet Explorer as well.
December 4, 201213 yr Have a look on your installed programs. Sometimes Java likes to install the latest version without removing the previous one.If you have previous versions be sure to uninstall them also. It's probably a good idea to clean your system registry and all it's temporary files too, that easily build up with simple use.A great free program for this is called 'CCleaner' You simply install the program and click 'Run' Let us know :) Thanks.
December 14, 201213 yr Hi there! Don't mean to hijack or anything, but I'm having the same problem as well. Here's a screenshot of what's going on in case that wasn't clear:http://puu.sh/1AJYf also ran a program similar to ccleaner, but still having the error. I'll try uninstalling all other versions of java and see if that works. Note: I can play in firefox browser, just not the swiftkit app. Edit: There is only one version of java installed and it is the latest version. (7 update 9)
December 15, 201213 yr I don't use internet explorer, so I wouldn't know. I use firefox and it works.
December 15, 201213 yr well are you able to test it for us? Internet Explorer is integrated in SwiftKit.
December 15, 201213 yr It does work on internet explorer. It seems that the problem was that internet explorer was installed on my main drive, but not the drive that swiftkit was installed in, so maybe it got confused as to where it was supposed to pick it's roots from. So I copied internet explorer from the main drive to the secondary drive and now it seems to work.
