Ryuuzaki_L
Topic title says it all. I don't really need to kill the QBD. I am just looking to get a good crossbow for slayer tasks. I just started RuneScape again and am trying to get geared up. I have full Bandos, a Chaotic Maul, Chaotic Rapier, Royal D'Hide, and a Crystal Bow which I am happy with. But as for a crossbow, my best one is a Rune Crosswbow so I wanted to get something a little better than that. So I was wondering, with my stats would I be able to get to the point to brandish the Royal Crossbow? If not, what stats should I work on? (Also any advice on what's new that I should work towards since 2010 would be helpful as well) Thank you all, -Ryuuzaki
primadog
You need 80 Ranged and 70 Smithing to brandish the Royal Crossbow, so not yet. Otherwise, you should able to survive the exercise after some practice. All I learned in life, I learned on Tip.it
Ammako
Easily. Once you get the initial requirements (70 smithing as mentioned above)You don't actually need to have 80 Ranged to have it forged, that's only a requirement to equip it. Get Gano, Wand of treachery and Dragonfire shield (magic).Bring one Antifire, one Super magic potion, two Prayer potions and fill the rest of your inventory with Sharks (Don't forget to bring runes for the best spell you can cast, obviously.) When you enter the battle, pray Ranged along with the best Magic-boosting prayer you can use, drink a dose of Antifire + Super magic potion and stand on the square directly left of the first artifact. It is recommended you stay there whenever you aren't avoiding fire walls. When it says that the QBD is about to shoot fire walls, get prepared to go stand at the right spot so that the wall avoids you.Once you reach Phase 2+, she'll start spawning Tormented souls, so when those appear, they'll shout something and send a cloud at you, which deals several thousands of life points in damage. It could take a few tries to get it right, but if you walk through the soul a fraction of second after it shouts, the soul should end up attacking itself. I recommend bringing the best Beast of Burden you can have (most likely Bull ant for you, although I would recommend training up for War tortoise.)Set your summoning icon left-click option to Take BoB, so that you can withdraw food from there if needed. Apart from that, it's the usual "spam abilities at the QBD when you can, eat food to heal if your health gets too low, keep your prayer points up." You will probably miss a lot with only a Lv. 70 wand, but you should eventually reach the fourth phase. Once you're there, I would recommend standing at the back of the first platform (do not stand on the transparent platforms) without attacking her. Heal whenever your health gets too low, try to avoid the Souls' attack (getting them to be attacked by their own cloud by running through them.)Once it says the Queen Black Dragon is preparing to shoot the super fire, be sure you are at the far back of the main platform (I don't actually know if this matters) and spam click Brandish on your Royal crossbow.
