March 4, 200620 yr Do you mean the "stranger" wearing a mask and wielding a poisoned dragon dagger? He's not a random event. He's part of the Desert Treasure quest, and appears to attack you when you have the Smoke Diamond on you or in your bank. This can happen at any time, even after you've finished the quest, if you have the Smoke Diamond in your inventory or in your bank. Remember, the SEARCH button is your friend. Use it!

There's something wrong with what you just said, how can you have the smoke diamond after the quest? I've stopped playing RuneScape. KoL's better.
