does it make a differance to your clue reward depending on what level monster you kill to get your clue scroll?

 

For example, will you get a better reward killing level 156 red dragons that level 21 guards or will the rewardstay the same no matter?

Higher monsters drop higher level clues, which give you better rewards so in a way yes.

it depends on the clue lvl

say its a plain lvl 2 clue, will a higher lvl monster clue drop give a better reward then a lower lvl monster clue drop (lvl 2 clue)

The only way to be sure to get better rewards is to do higher level clues. The actuall reward is completely random, and is decided when you solve it. Not when you get the clue.
