  1. I bought a Dragon Wood Cutting Axe. Auto win for me.
  2. Higher monsters drop higher level clues, which give you better rewards so in a way yes.
  3. Uh, fansite = independant with link(s) to main page. Gandalf has that as his "project" because he is making the game. So why shouldn't I do a fansite, so once the game is released, people can get info on items, skills, ect. without having to try to work their way through a manual or something. This wouldn't take the place of the game's site, just be a resource for anyone on the game's site. It wouldn't be a problem, and seriously wouldn't be too hard for me. I want to do this anyways, and besides, it gives me a spot to use my new forum at... What I meant was doing something like Runescape have done. Not fussed anyway, just trying to make the whole thing more uniform. I have constructed two quests. I see someone's beaten me to it but I'll post anyway. Maybe we can use both. Personally I don't see why we couldn't. Also, I've posted some more ideas of mine. ITEMS (UPDATED) There are items these new ideas would require. Here is a list of the ones I've thought up already. No part of the following text must be used without the authors prior permission. QUEST: The Dark Horse Background (Will be displayed before the quest has been started by the player): The Horse Stables in Carion have lost a valuable horse, Regela. Can you retrieve it for them? Requirements: Able to defeat Level 4 Enemies. Step One: To start the quest, you must talk to the Stable Keeper, located outside the Stables. Talk to him. The conversation should go like this: - Player: Hello - Stable Keeper: Oh...hello there - Player: You seem worried. - Stable Keeper: I am, I am. One of my most precious horses, Regela, has gone missing. - Player: That's terrible. How did that happen? - Stable Keeper: I don't know. She's a rare black horse so poacher's may have taken an interest in her. I hope she's O.K. - Player: Maybe I could help look for her! - Stable Keeper: That would be wonderful. If you can find her, I will reward you most handsomely. To track her, you will need to look for a three pronged hoof track. Following it should help you get an idea of where she is. - Player: Brilliant. I'll start immediately. Step Two: You must then walk west, towards the Great Wood. Just before you enter the woods, go north around the Wood's, until you hit hoof marks. Follow the hoof marks into the woods. Step Three: The marks will eventually lead you to a cave. You must enter the cave. Step Four: Oncce you enter the cave, walk down it a little. You will be attacked by a level 4 Bandit. Defeat the bandit and continue down the cave. Eventually, you will reach the horse Regela. Two more bandits will be guarding it, which you will need to kill. Once you killed them, right click the horse then select Tame. You will then hold the horse by it's reins. You must take the horse back to the Stable Keeper. Step Five: Once you reach the stable keeper, talk to him again. The conversation should go like this: - Player: I've found Regela! - Stable Keeper: So I see! How can I ever thank you? Here, take this. It isn't much but it's my way of saying thank you. The quest is completed. Reward: - 500 Silver pieces. - Ability to Tame. - 800 Taming Experience. (This amount of experience should be enough to allow the player to tame Wild Dogs) QUEST: Mystic Crusade ALL QUEST CONVERSATIONS TO BE FILLED IN AT A LATER DATE. Background: The Warriors of the Mystic Legends Guild have been trying to find the Stone of Zazork. Their attempts have failed and many warriors have gone missing in pursuit of this great stone. Can you find it and claim eternal glory? Step One: Firstly, you must talk to the Mystic Legends Guard. He tells you the Guild is having an emergency meeting on yet another disappearance from their Guild. He will not let you in. You must then go to the back of the guild, and down a set of ladders. Step Two: You climb down the stairs and advance forward. You will then be stopped by a guild guard and arrested. Step Three: You must picklock your way out of the cell. There are 3 gates and each of them requires you to complete a small logic task. If you get any wrong, a guard will notice you trying to escape and you must start again. Once you complete all three, you must take the immediate east turning, and continue to the end of the tunnel. Half way down, an old man called Dramus will greet you. Talk to him and eventually he will give you a Mysterious Skull. He speaks very vaguely but from what he says, you gather that the Stone gains power from the life giver. Step Four: Continue past the old man and climb up the stairs at the end of the tunnel. You will appear in a field. Keep going south west until you hit a river. Step Five: The river is impassable so follow it southwards. Eventually, you will come to the Mystic Guild again. Approach the Guild Guard, but do not speak to him. After a few seconds, a Ghostly mage will appear out of nowhere and fight the guard. The guard just defeats the mage. Step Six: Talk to the guard again. He will now let you in the Guild. You must now find a cure for the Guards Mage Burns. Step Seven: Walk to the guild doors. Try and get in. It will be locked. Cerag, a Mystic Knight, will come out and challenge your presence. Tell him of the Guard's terrible burns and he will tell you how to heal the burns. Step Eight: To get the necessary ingredients, you have to first pick a Dworf Leaf from a Sickal Tree. These are found north of Kaselm. Be careful, level 67 Snakes wander the area. Step Nine: Secondly, you have to attain a Dragon's Egg. These are guarded by all Dragon's, in their respective lairs. Step Ten: The final ingredient needed is Mud. This can be gotten pretty much anywhere. Step Eleven: Mix all the ingredients and heal the Guild Guard. He is most appreciative and tells you of the Stone of Zazork, and what it is used for. He has little idea where it is but can direct you to someone who does. Step Tweleve: You must find Jura. The Guard tells you he is somewhere on the island of Xiana. To get there, you must do one of two things. If you have completed the 'Xiana Crash' Quest, you can go back to Roger and get a trip for 10 Silver pieces there. If you haven't, you must go to the Poseidon Temple. The Temple is a maze, full of Poseidon Mages. They will not attack you, as long as you're taking the correct route. As soon as they attack you, go back on yourself. Step Thirteen: Keep going until you come to a portal. Step in it and you will arrive in Xiana. Step Fourteen: Journey south until you come to a hut. Talk to Jura and he will further explain about the Stone. He gives you a note to take to the Guild. He warns you of the Ghostly Mages who guard the Stone. They attack anyone they feel is a threat to it. Once your conversation with Jura is over, you should expect an attack from one of these Mages. This attack will be before you leave Xiana. Step Fifteen: When you kill the Ghostly Mage, he will drop a mysterious cloth. Select rub cloth and you will be protected from any other Ghostly Mage attacks. If you do not do this, expect to have to fight them nearly every step of the way. If you forget, every single Ghostly Mage drops a mysterious cloth. Step Sixteen: Proceed back to the Guild and hand the note to the Guard. He reads it and explains the stone is located on a hill, deep within the Troll Territories. Step Seventeen: To get there, you must first go to Troll City. Enter and make your way north. Continue out of the other set of gates and make your way past the Level 58 Rebel Trolls. Step Eighteen: Carry on until you get to a green hill. You shouldn't miss it. Step Nineteen: Make your way up the hill and you will see four large stones, with a smaller table in the middle. Set on it is the Stone of Zazork. Step Twenty: Try to take the stone. As soon as you do, a Ghostly Mage named Ji Sar will appear. She will demand you leave. Refuse, and fight her. Prepare for a hard fight. If you do not have the Mysterious Skull in your inventory, she will kill you within a few hits, regardless to any faith or potions. Step Twenty One: Once defeated, take the stone. The ground starts to shake but you will be teleported back to the Mystic Guild. Talk to Cerag and he will congratulate you on bringing the stone to the rightful owner. He will explain the Ghosts stole it to keep their essence alive. Talk to the Guard. He will explain that you are a full Mystic Guild member. Once you've done this, you have completed the quest. Reward: - Ability to wield Sunyte Weapons, wear Sunyte Armour and smith Sunyte bars, armour and weapons. - Ability to wear the Mystic Ring. It gives you +8 Accuracy, + 8 Strength and +10 Fury. - Access to the Mystic Legends Guild. - Access to the Teleport to Xiana Spell. - 100,000 Silver pieces. - 18,000 Experience in Magic, Fury, Defense and Herblore. Might I add if these do get used, experience points are not final. It all depends on the Experience Points system BirdBoy's devising (at least I think it's you. Correct me if I'm wrong). Please tell me what you all think.
  4. Oh yes I know it is, but there's nothing else, just that everywhere. If that's how it's meant to be then that's fine. A fan site would be good. However, shouldn't we make something directly linked to the site rather than something independant, which a fan site is?
  5. I'll devise one up. I'll PM to you gandalf, with the solution etc, so no-one else sees. By the way, I tried downloading the trial thing, just got a screen with Copyright Mystic Legends 2006 dotted all over the screen. anyway to fix this?
  6. So I assume you have enough people for all the programming etc...what about quest ideas? Should I do that? Is there anyone who's got MSN Messenger so I could discuss it with them, Gandalf primarily?
  7. IDEAS I have written all my ideas up in this report, so I can send them all to you at once. Some of them have been said already, some haven't. I hope some of them will be used. NAMES Personally, I feel the name Runescape is boring. It's good to attract members with a good name. A good name should be decided when the games at least been constructed, or in construction. For instance, Frozen Wastes would be a good name if the game was set in Icy terrain. However, we don't know that until we construct the game. Mystic Legends, the name picked already, seems very good. It seems that this name has already been decided and is set in stone. So unless you'd like more name suggestions, I won't discuss this anymore. CUSTOMER RELATIONS I feel the Runescape has made many mistakes as regards to customer relations. They're generally rude, and they don't 'relate' well to customers. They ban them, instantaneously, without any personal explaination. I'd like to see this changed significantly if this new game takes off. Speaking from someone who has experienced the rudeness of the Jagex staff, I wouldn't mind personally sorting this department out. We need to be known as a friendly company. It really helps keep our players. PAY As honourable as your idea to make it free for everyone, I feel that it might be hard to do this. Advertising won't bring in enough money to maintain the servers, pay for other expenses. Hopefully this idea will grow, and when it does more staff will need to be hired. Advertising may keep it all going until that point. I'm sure you've considered this point of course, but if you haven't, I thought I'd bring it up. GAME CURRENCY A good point of Runescape is the currency and economy. It works well and creates an extra dimension to the gaming experience. I feel the same thing should be at least aimed for on this new game. BANKS Runescape basically got this completely right. Banks are good as they are and for healthy gaming, I don't think one should be placed in every town. Travelling a bit isn't that bad. Also adding Interest to money kept in the bank wouldn't be a bad idea. MERCHANTING CENTER I think this would ruin the fun of selling and buying player to player. Obviously this isn't my decision but I wouldn't like an implementation like this. POH's (Player Owned Houses) These are a great idea. This could be a portal to the player's bank and houses could be traded like items. Players can only do it at an Estate Agent, located in one or two towns. Obviously these houses would be high in price and maybe a completion of a quest would be a good idea before you can buy them. There could possibly be a teleportation spell to a players house. Animals could be kept there freely and equipment for the house could be bought. Players could then sell the house off again for a higher price, thansk to the extra items the house contains. Renting property could be a possibility. Someone could rent a property and to buy a rental, you have to go the Estate Agent again. You then browse the rental page and pick one. On picking one, you have to have a certain amount of money in your inventory to pay for the initial deposit. They then pay a specified amount a month, picked by the Landlord, and do this by having the money withdrawn from their bank (A note will be sent to them, informing them of where the money has gone). If a player doesn't pay up, the Landlord has two choices. One is to evict them, two is to give them more time to pay. If they choose to evict them, the evictee will have a red mark left on his name. If a player accumulates three of these, they will be unable to rent property (will still be able to buy). All red marks are erased after three calendar months. There's no way a player can be banned for not paying rent. If a Landlord chooses to give the player more time, the Tenant will be given one more week to pay, and no penalty will be given. If they do not pay, they will be evicted automatically. TRAVELLING Walking is boring. Teleporting, riding a dragon or riding a horse is fun. I'll explain more about each one, or how I feel they would best be implemented. - Teleporting: Pretty much the same as Runescape, except maybe making it a little harder to do so, for instance maybe doing a quest to allow you to do it. - Riding a Dragon: This would require a high level in a new skill, Taming. Dragon's can be bought and sold. You choose to ride them but have to feed them with Fireseeds, which is an item a purpose implementing. You can choose to fly pretty much anywhere and while riding, a timer will display the Dragon's energy. If it drops below 20 per cent, the Dragon will not fly anymore. Drops to 0 per cent and the Dragon runs away. A certain riding level is required to ride the Dragon. - Riding a Horse: Similar to Dragon Riding, but obviously certain areas will not be able to be reached, such as islands. Faster than walking but slower than Dragon Riding. Horses require carrots to keep them going. Their energy however, lasts a lot longer than the Dragon's. A certain riding level is required for this. - Riding a Camel: Same as the Horse only for Sandy areas. A horse won't go to Sandy areas, a Camel won't go to Grassy Areas. - Riding a Magic Carpet: Firstly, the carpet has to be crafted, which will take a high crafting level. Then the carpet has to be enchanted. It's the second slowest form of travelling. However, it doesn't need any form of energy. ITEMS There are items these new ideas would require. Here is a list of the ones I've thought up already. Needless to say, more will be added. - Fireseeds - Carrots - Water (not new, but for camels energy) - Silver (the currency) QUESTS Quests are a great part of Runescape and I think would be a good part of this new game. Quest ideas are as follows: - Bordon's Voyage: This quest requires you to help Bordon, a pirate, in riding an island full of Ghost's. The Ghost's are not evil however, and once the quest is complete, you can use teleport spells. - The Merchant: Fiern, the Merchant, is missing and it's the job of the player to find him. They will venture over the lands until they go to the Dragon's Island. Once completed, you can tame Dragon's. Not many ideas but I will think of more. MINI GAMES These are great fun. Some ideas are Hunting (already mentioned), Bank Robbery, Armies, Ship Sailing and other one's, similar to Runescapes. - Bank Robbery: Basically, the player talks to a robber who's finding it hard to rob a bank. You have to find a way to do so, without being caught of course. If you do, you recieve the loot and an extra bonus. This won't affect any other players' banks in anyway. - Armies: Players, through their homes, can hire a small Mercenary army of a creature of their choice. Their army must only be of one type of Monster and the better the monster, the higher the cost. The maximum Army number is 50 and the monsters can only help them in the Grand Fight Arena, where armies fight for prizes (such as the Duel Arena is Runescape). WEAPONS Metals: - Iron - Steel - Mithryl (Spell it like this) - Onyte - Platinum - Sunyte - Onyte: Ores can only be obtained by killed Onyx's. - Platinum: Can only be obtained through mining after the completion of a quest. - Suntye: To obtain, a high Quary level is needed, the completion of the 'Mystic' Quest and then a mini game must be completed for each ore. The aim is to try and make this ore hard to get. Weapons: - Spears - Pike (Spear Upgrade) - Halberd (Pike Upgrade) - Sword - Long Sword (Upgrade of Sword) - Bow - Longbow (Upgrade of Bow) - Magic Staff (Magic Spells can not be cast without wielding one) - Club - Mace (Upgrade of Club) - Flail (Upgrade to mace) - Maul - Warhammer (Upgrade of Maul) - Weapons need to be upgraded at an Armoury, which will be located in Various places around the Map. Items can be bought in their highest form however. Weapons do wear out after use. The better the weapon, the longer they last. ARMOUR Same as Runescape Armour, in their respective metals. If you'd like more, such as cities, more quests, skills, description's on skills etc, just reply to this post with feedback on my ideas. P.S: I'd really like to be involved in this idea, as you can probably tell.
  8. I once gave a friend 5 million...friendships are strong things and i think it's hat makes this game...phenomonal.
  9. Raising the level cap would be nice...and at leats RS2 isn't like WoW (I know I'm gonna get flamed for that one) where getting level 99 is a challenge. I think being able to smith Dragon weapons would be good, but make it hard, like Killing dragons, a rare drop is dragons blood which can be smithed with 30 coal to make a dragon bar, at level 90 smith or something...just a random and probably bad idea but i think it would give higher players something to go for, for once.
  10. Sorry, islands dont posess life...nor do wheels
  11. Sorry, accuracy isn 't the point here, the point is that there's LOADS more land that's to come hopefully...after all, only a quater of the planet (according to this) is occupied...i cant wait to see what else is to come :D
  12. please, do not goto the lost city if you are chronically on acid. you may or may not have a seizure :P  ive never laughed at a post before as much as i did to that one :D
  13. Their stats are all the same and they all look good so therefore, it has to be a personal opinion.
  14. I believe Zammy is and no, Sara's worth less, by how much I'm not sure.
