I'm trying to get help for a friend. Below is the pretinent parts of a conversation I had with him/her. Hopefully this gives enough info for someone to be able to come up with some suggestions.

Thanks!

<[Newp's Friend]> all my sounds were mixed up

<[Newp's Friend]> I still have not got everything working

Boy do I ever know that feeling!

<[Newp's Friend]> Windows media does not work but itunes is much better

And you've already reinstalled window's media, right?

<[Newp's Friend]> yes

<[Newp's Friend]> done everything

:(

<[Newp's Friend]> its clashing with itunes some way

<[Newp's Friend]> it was working fine then the next time it was not working

I wish I was more of an expert. :(

<[Newp's Friend]> me too

<[Newp's Friend]> I am sure it is something simple

If you don't mind, I'll share this convo with those guys and maybe I'll get some good suggestions.

Rule #1 clearly states, "Do NOT confuse Newpy!"

Only 19 years to get to level 99 in something.  Mining, check.

More detail my friend :!: I'd suggest your friend get a forum account so we can discuss it here. My initial suggestion would be to install updated sound drivers - these can be downloaded from the sound card manufacturer's website.

If your friend does not know who the manufacturer of the sound card is, then you can use the device manager to find out:

If your friend is using Windows 2000 or XP, then Start -> Run and type "devmgmt.msc" (no quotes.) Expand Sound, Video and Game controllers.

If your friend is using an older version of windows, try Control Panel -> System -> Device Manager.

You should also ensure that the microphone is muted. Start -> Run -> "sndvol32" (no quotes.)

If that doesn't solve the problem, then we'll need more info. What specifically is meant by "mixed up." Describe the symptoms that are experienced in Windows media player and iTunes, and how they differ. Describe the media that we're trying to play (video? audio? filetype - mp3, wav, mpg, avi, etc.)

Good luck :)
