Well, its impossible to say accurately. But:

 

 

 

The xp difference is about 530k

 

 

 

Assuming that on average you hit a 15 with the cannon, and given that you get 2xp per hit you will gain, on average, 30xp per shot.

 

 

 

Meaning you will need a grand total of approximately 18k cballs (530k/30). But I'd get more if I were you.

I use iron knives. Picking up, I reckon 10k iron knives are good for about 500k xp. At 40ea thats still loads cheaper than the cannon but slower xp.
