seting up a network

can anyone help me set up a network for my bellsouth internet and my main computer and laptop can share files and use my printer in my room from my laptop.

laptop is a dell latitude 120 l

 

 

 

desktop is a custem built by me

 

 

 

both running xp pro

 

 

 

desktop is hard wire

 

 

 

laptop is wireless useing dells wirekess netwrok control

As far as i can understand your laptop should connect to the router wirelessly and the computer should be wired to the router then go to control panel on one of the computers and run network setup wizard. go through that and then do the same on your laptop with the same settings.

 

 

 

Make sure you turn file and printer sharing ON.

 

 

 

Then to install the printer on your laptop go to my network places --> 'Your desktops comp name' click on that then click on the icon for your printer and it will install it
