May 24, 200620 yr Well, before you guys post, I'd just like to mention this is my first proper pixel avatar (made two pixel sigs as well). Oh and if you say "the darker shading in the middle of the monster/dinosaur foot is too dark and sticks out", I'd like to point out that for some reason Paint (or at least my version) doesn't have a middle shade between it and the lighter shade used. Very weird :? . Anyway, back to the point, as you can plainly see, the background isn't that great at the moment, so any ideas for a background would be greatly appreciated. Well, without further boredom, here's the avatar atm. ---------------------------- WOOO! FINALLY UPDATED! 08/06/06 ---------------------------- Like the background? I'm finally nearly done. Just need maybe one more thing in the road, behind the foot and to the left a bit. Btw, will be working on the grass soon, I know it's rubbish at the moment but I'll sort it. Oh, and I didn't make a new topic because I wanted you guys to see the original, which I've deleted by accident. Here it is : So, any ideas for something else in the top left, looking a bit bare. ̢̢̮ââ¬Ã¢Ã¢ââ¬Ã
May 24, 200620 yr Certain colours can't be used it it's a certain file format. Try saving as a PNG or copying to a new PNG canvas. Background: maybe a cave? The back of the foot (heel) doesn't exist... That monster would fall over more then a jenga tower at a blind people convention... (Crickets chirp) ... ̢̮â¬Å¡Ãâì_̢̮â¬Å¡Ãâì Anyway, :P yeh, just try more shading, background, and maybe some scales on the leg?
May 24, 200620 yr Author It is saved in PNG :? that's why I'm confused. Lol, and yeah I'd noticed that when you posted about the heel, but I don't want a jenga tower, I want an awesome killing machine. Maybe that's taking it a bit over the top. ̢̢̮ââ¬Ã¢Ã¢ââ¬Ã
May 24, 200620 yr Much. Now try scales? HINT: If you can, try to avoid using black outlines, it gives a cartoony style, and if you use colour for outlines, it makes it look so much more professional. :)
May 24, 200620 yr Author Ok, I'll give it a go after school tomorrow, too busy with Big Brother  lol ̢̢̮ââ¬Ã¢Ã¢ââ¬Ã
May 24, 200620 yr Author Any tips for scales as I've never seen any in pixel before, so I have no idea how to do it. ̢̢̮ââ¬Ã¢Ã¢ââ¬Ã
May 25, 200620 yr Try using a darker shade of green to make various shapes of incomplete ovals and cirlces like this: The upper right is the picture on regular size.
May 25, 200620 yr Author  This isn't turning out right. I think I might leave the scales out for the moment. Now all I need is an idea for a background. ̢̢̮ââ¬Ã¢Ã¢ââ¬Ã
May 25, 200620 yr Author What do you mean. I know what you mean by transparent but how could I work that into a background? ̢̢̮ââ¬Ã¢Ã¢ââ¬Ã
May 25, 200620 yr Something to do with photoshop. I dunno how to do it, I just know itt looks awesome 8-)
May 25, 200620 yr Author Dam it! I'm way too poor to buy PS. Any Paint backgrounds? Anything I can do for free? ̢̢̮ââ¬Ã¢Ã¢ââ¬Ã
June 8, 200620 yr Shading on leg now too light, and you also need to get a better grass technique... I belive woopi did a great grass thing with one of his sigs. You need little lines of light green, dark green and the rest is just medium green. (I think)
June 8, 200620 yr Author Ok, I'll alter the shading, and I'm going to sniff around some other well known pixelers and see the "ways of wonder". lol ̢̢̮ââ¬Ã¢Ã¢ââ¬Ã
