Sound problems.

Hi.

 

 

 

I've had this problem for a long time. But I didn't care. I'd like to hear some RuneScape music now, but it won't work. The sound effects do, though. I've tried ways to solve it that have been posted here, but to no avail. I can't get it to work.

 

 

 

I've tried a few things,

 

-Checking if the sound is turned on ingame. (Duh?)

 

-Tried with IE, FireFox and Opera.

 

-Updated directx, sound drivers.

 

-Running DXDIAG. I go to the tab music --> Click Microsoft MIDI-Mapper (emulation) and get this message: "Failure at step 6 (Activating the IDirectMusicPort): HRESULT = 0x80004005 (Generic failure)"

 

I have tried to google for solutions, but nothing came up.

 

 

 

Something of my soundcard is called Realtek AC97 Audio.

 

 

 

PS: Sound effects DO work.

Forgot to mention no settings are muted in the volume control panel.
