so, i have few questions. my current lvls are

def-30

att-40

str-40

pry-22,

mage-36,

range-4,

hitpoints-39

so, i am thinking about getting my mage 59 with casting curse, so i have a few questions about that

1) why in other posts there are advices to wear rune armour or smth like that to fail those curses? why it is so?

2) who are the best npc to cast curses on?

then i'm having a trouble with hitpoints, i guess they are too low lvl, because i'm thinking about pking in future, so - how can i get that lvl up? as i understood - with cursing you cant gain hitponiet exp, right? so - what can i do with that?

then - when i'll get that 59mage - what should i wear while going pk?

i'm f2p btw!

well if you succeed curse on NPC, you can't cast on him again, so for faster training u want to fail cursing, so you can cast on same npc over and over.

as for hp ... i'm not pker and i can't advice. probbaly best bet would be go in wildy and see how it goes with variuos levels of hp.

1500+ total 89 cmb; 1600+ total and under 93 cmb.

02/04/07 reached all skills 60+ under lvl 90 cmb.

07/19/07 reached all skills 70+ at lvl 93 cmb.

Full armour (any kind, it makes no difference) and vambraces (again any kind) reduce your mage ability therefore meaning you fail the curse more often (meaning you can cast it multiple times on the same NPC).

Whatever you cast against should have two things:

1. A safe spot where you can attack and it can't.

2. A high mage defence.

I have heard that the caged wizard behind the stairs in Varrock castle is a good target.

If you want to raise HP cast an aggressive spell such as fire strike etc.

I'm not a PKer so this is all second-hand info - treat it with caution I might be wrong :)

make a new character your all ready ruined to become a pker you ahve 30 def theres no point in pkin at your lvl with 30 def either get higher for rune or make a new character and cursing doesnt give hp xp dont think to get hp up use range and amge to lvl and i dont advise usin curse to get lvl up you want to get hp lvls i would use fire strike and then at lvl 39 use crumble undead

tnx

there is another problem (oh, poor me) - what can i do to NOT gain my combat lvl? because right now it is like 46, but you can see my stats, so everytime when i go in wild to try some pking, i get owned buy pures. is there any chance for me or should i make a new account? it's quiet sad, because it took me so long to get fishing up for lobbies and mining for addy. eh...

Jesus kid, learn how to use "." and ",".

As for the latest question here is my answer to it, and also the 2nd question in the opening thread:

Firstly pking is dominated by pures at your level. Pure have high str and 1 def and pray. Some pures train magic and range also high to get more hp lvls. These characters own the wild because of their ability to kill enemies fast.

Another way is to make a mage pure, high magic, some def and 1 attack and strength. again no prayer.

Another way is to make a ranger. You can guess the stats.

For your situation i would think 2 options, become members pker or become staker. Your stats are not ruined yet to become member pker but are pretty much ruined for staking, unless high level staking.

Look at my stats for example: 81 attack and def, 84 str, 60 pray, 81 range (i think :P) and 86 mage. Now when i get 94 mage i will be pretty good pker, and i could be a good staker at higher levels.

In your case i would train my def to 40. attack to 60 and str to 80 or so, then get prayer 43 so i could protect OR if you want to be respected pker then i would get 32 prayer (i think it's the last prayer you need for all the highest stat enhancing prayers). Then you could train combat even more with melee stats, the base rule in pking is to have high str and pretty high attack, when def is lower.

Training without getting combat levels is simple as pie. The way rs game engine calculates your combat is based on what are the highest skills (def+mafe, def+range or att+str). If you had high attack and strength you could train mage and range to decent level without getting any combat levels UNLESS YOU GET HP LEVEL. HP will allways raise your combat, as will prayer also.

Tip.it mainpage has in special calculators combat calculator which will tell you what you can train to what to get a cb lvl. if you're melee based decrease 1 from the range, mage and pray lvl to get the level you can train to. In your case that would be:

Your combat is 46 (Melee based)

For combat 47, you need either:

* 4 attack or strength levels

* 4 defence or hitpoint levels

* 8 prayer levels

* 20 magic levels

* 52 ranged levels
