Khruschev
Guide for F2P ranged (up to lvl 40) 1. First, I suggest removing all your equipment except for your weapon and platebody and bring some food. Then go to Edgeville (above barbarian village) and go north into the wilderness. You should see a kind of circle of bronze arrows at lvl 10 wilderness. Start collecting the arrows and circle around collecting until you have about 1k arrows. This should take about 1 hour if you concentrate. 2. Then you can either collect cowhide and make it into leather and craft the leather set or try the general shop in al-kharid to see if there are any leather armor stuff. I recommend getting the leather cowl, leather hardbody, leather chaps, and leather vambraces. This set will add more ranged atk bonus for you so you wonâââ‰â¢t miss as often. You should have the shortbow from the tutorial. (Note: You should always use shortbows since they have the same speed as a mage caster and longbows take a tremendously long time to shoot. Shortbows are cheaper and they also have the same ranged atk bonus as longbows.) 3. Ok, here comes the fun. Go to any chicken farm you want (lumbridge, falador) and start ranging the chickens either from outside the fence or inside. It doesnâââ‰â¢t matter which way since chickens donâââ‰â¢t hurt you unless youâââ‰â¢re really low-lvled. At lvl 5 ranged, you can go to varrock to buy an oak shortbow if you want, but you can also save money and wait until lvl 20 ranged for a willow shortbow. I recommend staying with chickens until lvl 16 ranged since you canâââ‰â¢t hit 3âââ‰â¢s anyway. Make sure you pick up ALL the arrows that are left over everytime you kill something, so your 1k arrows can last longer. 4. Then you can go to Edgeville and range the men in the house until lvl 20-25 ranged. After that, buy a willow shortbow and a studded chaps from the varrock armor store. Donâââ‰â¢t buy the studded body since it doesnâââ‰â¢t add any ranged atk bonus, only the def. Try to get a coif if you can, but if you canâââ‰â¢t find one then donâââ‰â¢t bother. 5. Now, you can choose between ranging to lvl 40 at the varrock dark wizard circle or barbarian village. Lots of people say go to barbarian village, but there are usually a lot of people there and its multi-combat so ksers too. I recommend the dark wizards since itâââ‰â¢s not multi-combat and they drop good amount of runes too. If you are low-lvled, then dark wizards are not so good since they will hit you constantly and the lvl 20 wizards can kill you if they attack you. So below lvl 40 people should just go to barbarian village. 6. The 1k arrows should last until lvl 37 ranged or so, and if you run out you can always go to the wilderness again and collect more or buy some at the varrock store. After lvl 40 ranged, itâââ‰â¢s kind of pointless to raise your ranged anymore unless you like archers. Get the green dragonhide set if you want to continue ranging, but thatâââ‰â¢s pretty much it. Ohâââ¬Ã¦if anyone was wondering why up to lvl 40 ranged guide, thatâââ‰â¢s the lvl you can equip the best f2p lvl 40 gloves: green d-hide vambraces or dragon vambraces. pro28
I suggest instead of going to the wilderness to collect arrows, they should just collect cowhides, it's fairly simple to find a buyer for 100 ea and most people just leave them lying on the ground. pokemama
In order to get the widest attention for your guide, I recommend posting it in the F2P forum. Thanks for wanting to help people out here, but for this particular forum, your topic title looks more like a question rather than a solution :) it's a lot easier to get over yourself when you look at intelligence the same way you look at beauty, or height, or eye color: being smart is easy, but being good is hard ... being smart is handed to you, being good is handed to *nobody*.
