Oak larders are by the the best, and cheapest way to level construction. Just bring tons of noted oak logs/oak planks and get your butler to un-note them and either build/take to the sawmill then build. Good luck!

What I did was repeatedly make oak larders (build, remove, build, remove, build, etc), using the demon butler to unnote my logs and then turn them into planks. You could probably do this.

As it states in the Beginner's Guide, oak is considered the most cost effective material for leveling. However, if you have money to toss away go ahead and use teak and mahogany - it's really up to you.
