I know it's a player but what makes your account a "pure"?

Definitions vary but it tends to be a player who focusses their training entirely on very few skills. In the case of combat pures the pure will often have high offensive skills (one or more of: strength, attack, mage, range) but low defense and/or low prayer. This allows pures to have a low overall combat score but still retain high hitting capability, this makes for a good pker or staker (different stats are better for different tasks - this is not a question with a definitive answer).
