July 1, 200620 yr Im lvl 54 smithing and want to know the best way to lvl up smithing without buying ores and stuff. Basically what is the fastest way to lvl mine and smith? July 1, 200620 yr Iron is probably the fastest, but steel gives a greater profit. Also, the fact that some Iron ores are impure is annoying. Iron for sheer exp, steel for decent exp and profit.

July 1, 200620 yr 500gp+, but steel plates are 1.2K so don't try that for money, but you want exp. Are you able to "melt" cannonballs though? They are good money at 200gp a c-ball (800gp per bar) and no need to go to a anvil.
