Chapels in your house

i just got to 45 construction and i built a chapel and 2 steel torches, now according to runescapes knoweldge base, i should get 200% the exp with both burners lit when i offer bones. well i just offered some dragon bones and they still only gave 72 exp each! both steel torches were lit, and i did not receive any extra prayer bonus, is there something that i am doing wrong? any help and advice is greatly appreciated, thanks! :D

Did you 'use' the bones on the altar? They will burn up and apparently that's where you get the extra xp. I've only done it once with some big bones in my bank and didn't compare how much xp I got. That's the way I understand it should happen though. Should being the key word however.

yes i did use them with my altar, i found out that i might have to have incense burners which require 61 construction, that could be my problem :-k

If you read the Bold section from the quote, it says those are the values with the BEST burners. You only have steel burners, which are not the best, and thus you get less xp. In your case you get NONE.

You have to have at least mahogany incense burners to get the extra bonus. Each incense burner gives 50% extra exp so if you have any 2 lit you get the extra 100%. But you have to have an incense burner not just a normal burner, you will also need marentill herbs for the incense burners.

I think you will find that the burners are not the real problem it's the altar. However that said burners which require marentil leaves will give you the higher percentage, so you will need 2 leaves every time you use the altar and carry a tinder box at all times.

 

 

 

Burners as you upgrade them from incense, increase the amount of time in which you can offer the bones at the altar. Which is good if you cop a random event like the Zombie or Evil Chicken, but the higher the level of burners after incense wont make any difference to final percentage.

 

 

 

Also when you upgrade an alter from basic to the final Guilded version, you must destroy each alter, they do not upgrade. So for the Guilded alter you must destroy the previous Marble Altar.
