Okay, There used to be one of these threads for photoshop-type programs. Seeing as the pixel fad hasn't died down yet, and I still see lots of questions about the style as well as lots of generally bad pieces on display, I figured we need one.

Before you make pixel sigs, or attempt them. Consult the few basic steps to not bieng dreadful, or ask a question if you have a more advanced or specific problem.

No-Suck-Solutions.

1.) Spend time! Don't expect to whip out a masterpiece in 30 minutes every time. If you can't spend a lot of time, don't bother. Quality over Quantity.

2.)Make your own colors. MSPaint's stock colors are totally ugly due to high saturation. Spend some time developing a pallette before you do a work. It will save time instead of having to go back and recolor.

3.) Clean up your lines. If you don't know what this means, learn it. Ask me if needed.

4.) Don't do it solely for profit. Get some serious experience under your belt before you expect to make money off of artwork. Start off with doing free signatures until you develop a portfolio you are proud of. Pixeling should be fun!

5.) Be creative! Don't do the same old trees, warriors, weapons, etc. etc. scenes all the time. Take some time and think of the concept until you've got something you can't wait to finish.

Of course I barely explained the fundamentals of art, but if you have some questions or need some quick C|C then post here or PM a veteran for info and tips instead of clogging up the board.

Don't be afraid to ask people questions. In case you haven't noticed, most of the best artists in general around here are the more mature people. Most of them wouldn't mind stopping to give you something to practice on or give you some tips.

If anyone else that knows a little something feels like answering any questions here, feel free to do so. The purpose of this post is to clean up this board from all the first attempts, and monotonous questions.
