i think that when you watch a topic that the message goes to your tip.it message box, or else have something that asks you if you want to watch a topic when you reply to it cuz my inbox just keeps filling up with messesages saying that someone has replied to a topic. (and i usaully forget to click "stop watching this topic" everytime i reply to something)

Thats how topic watching is designed , what good would sending you private messages instead do ? Fill our database with a bunch of useless info.

 

 

 

Personally , I hate topic watching and would remove the whole system, but yet again , people would whine....

Set "Always notify me of replies" to "no"

 

 

 

That way the default is not to notify you, but you can still tell it to for individual topics if you so desire.
