Tips for a mage pure?

Featured Replies

Ok, I have fiunally given in and started a pure account, does anyone have any tips for me because I have never done this before?

Don't go large on hitpoint-free training (curses, alchs etc.) unless you want to hybrid and gain hitpoints another way.

If not yet through tutorial, drop the runes you are given, and get more, collect about 6 lots, that should get you to level 3 out of tutorial.

Actually, I'd also raise strength to 3 in the rat cage, and attack to 8 on the dummies (hitpointless) so that a steel pick can be wielded for mining and no less pure once mage leads.

The mage quests are crucial (Witch's potion & Imp catcher), as is Doric's (buy/pick up the 2 Iron and you can then move up to a steel pick), cooks assistant and of course, Rune Mysteries.

The Imps for Imp catcher are the best chance of a mind talisman, then RC airs and minds and use then to strike from safety.

In F2p, there is no mage kit with defence requirements, so defence is useless for the mage. In members, you may prefer to be a mystic mage (20 def), though that means using expensive kit.

There are some other items that can be used in a 1-defence kit for members, such as a Zamorak robe bottom, or Ghostly robes (though it seems impossible to get them without getting prayer).

how about not making a pure and instead, stay in the spirit of the game like jagex said!!! :D :D
