mythologen
Well, I had some spare time, and quite a bit of spare web space, so I figured i'd offer it to the community. I've created a free file uploader, mostly images, but i'm looking into other media types. for the free stuff it'll prolly just be images though. The site is located at ]http://www.[ForbiddenSite] It offers pretty much the same things as imageshack, but more types of files, except if you register it offers considerably more space, and file types. Zdragonblader
but the images only stay 3 months at the most :/ maybe good for posting a 'rate me' pic on forums, but not to be considered for sigs. i think i'll stick with imageshack unless i find i really have to use one of the other formats, sry
mythologen
Yea, I can completely understand that. I have been giving it a lot of thought recently. Tentative: What I am thinking is, when you register an account it will set a three month time limit. then when you log in later, the timer will be reset for all of your images. If a lot of people say the same thing you just did, i'll expand the time limit considerably.
Guest Firestar
Whats so hard about registering at Photobucket and you get a whole album thingy
mythologen
well, there are tons places where you can register and upload an image, or multiple images. i'm just not the kinda person that forces others to do stuff for no reason. *edit - there are also some other perks to simpload that photobucket and others do not offer. Simpload offers double the file size limit of photobucket, without donating or registering. Simpload will also allow other types of uploads besides just images, if registered you may be allowed to upload movies, etc.

mythologen
i'm pleased to announce that registration is now fully functional, and looking good. It allows things like, 256KB .bmp, flash .swf, up to 1.5MB regular image files, it keeps a record of your uploads and allows you to lengthen their upload time, or delete them as necessary, and a soon to add feature will be the ability to replace the filename with a different image. djscoobsta
well i think ill stick to imageshack cause u get 12 month upload well thats after last view of it so 12 months of inactivatiy
mythologen
yea, thats definately a cool feature. i guess they are the way to go if you want to make sure your image stays up a long time with little effort, but we definately support more file types, and overall you can have a file uploaded as long as you want with a little more effort. Dyronamics
:) Btw is it possible to overwrite an existing image on your server with another of the same name? I've not tried yet because I'm a bit busy right now..... Its just a security thing I thought of..... ....and registration isn't working too well :( It doesn't wanna let me register.... mythologen
as for the security thing, that was taken care of before we started. i'll explain how it works. Basically, it takes the file name, then adds the month, date, and current time in miroseconds. Then it encrypts that and makes it the new filename. So unless you upload something with the same name, at the exact same microsecond exactly a month later, then nothing to worry about  as for the register issue, i was aware that it wasn't working in some regions, i believe austrailia was one of them, but it should have been resolved sometime yesterday, so maybe check it out and make sure it works now. Thanks for the info though, if you find any more bugs, keep hollering.
