~*~ Smithing advice please

Featured Replies

Im currently 81 smithing, obviously wanting 99 and just wanted some advice.

Whats the best way to get to 99 from here?

How much is it going to cost me?

Is it worth selling everything for it? (my mining lvl is useless)

cheers.

Level 91 smithing - PM me on these forums or add me if you want anything made.

99 smithing isnt as profitable as it used to be with all the new armours and everything but still a very nice achievment. Just make mith plates then addy plates till 99 smithing.

You're going to have to be a bit more specific. If you mean best by quickest, than Gold may be your best bet (without going TOO overboard buying bars). A quick means of powertraining smithing with gold would be taking 1000's of superheats to the gold-mine in Keldagrim (the Dwarven City). Or alternatively, buy Gold Bars, smith them with Gold Smith Guantlets, and sell them. On the other end of the cost-effective spectrum, you could buy Iron Ore, smelt it, and make Iron Knives. This would be slow, but I'm sure you'd make a profit.

With the cost difference between Gold Ore and Bars, you'd lose about the same money as camping in the gold-mine (because of the loss of Nature Runes). As I said, there are means of accomplishing your goal without losing money as well.

There's a fine line between having the money to "buy" something, and the money to "afford" it. I can't think of many things to sell everything for, but if Smithing is your passion go right on ahead. I honestly won't advise this unless you plan on making money via Smithing. Even then, you need money to buy bars to be a successful Smith.
