Not sure if this is right for off-topic, but it isnt runescape related :anxious:

Things like teamspeak, where you can talk to certain people over the internet (voice chat and text)

Only problem is after hours of looking I couldnt find one thats free, or isnt for dating =s

To make a server on vent, what you want is ventsrv[Caution: Executable File] which you can get here: http://www.ventrilo.com/download.php just look under "servers" and choose the one for your platform; Windows, linux etc.

Then to make the server:

Open up ventsrv[Caution: Executable File] which will give you an ip address near the bottom of the window. Make sure you give your friends that, but when you try to join your own server make sure you put the ip address as 127.0.0.1.

EDIT: Not sure why it does that caution thing but yeah, its [Caution: Executable File] not .e3e

You can set-up a server on your own machine with either Ventrilo or Teamspeak.

I personally prefer ventrilo most of the time, because it's smaller, but has more features that I'm interested in.

Unfortunately, though, the free version of the ventrilo server only allows a maximum of 8 people including yourself.

So, if you're looking for something to host more people, try Teamspeak.

As for the connection problems.. are you behind a router?

If so, you'll have to add an exception to your firewall, and do a bit of port-forwarding. Google port-forwarding and you should find all you need.
