Min lvl for Dragon Slayer?

What is the minimum level I need to be to beat Dragon Slayer?

----------------------------------------------------------

Alternatively, could I beat it with this:

Rune Full Helm

Rune B-axe

Rune Platelegs

Rune Chain

Dragonfire shield (of course)

Full inventory of swordies, and can fish more. (lvl 55 both cooking+fishing)

--also have strength potions. Any ideas for how many of each to carry?

Stats:

Acc: 42

Str: 41

Def: 41

HP: 41

Prayer: 26

Mage: 20

Combat level: 50

If not, what should I work on?

Thanks either way.

the dragon only uses magic if you try to safespot it it will atk with melee and dragonfire when you arent trying to hide from it. i do recommend the mage lvl 33 tho because it saves some money

Retired from RS since Sept 06

Wow, I guess that being half again my combat level is really overrated... Being able to heal must make a huge difference.

Thanks, people!

EDIT:

Wait, I just realized something: the best F2P food isn't swordies, it's anchovy pizza! Swordies heal 14, anchovy pizza heals 18 total!

edit #2:

i did it... and needed every single swordie I had. Man, that was tough!

And a note to would-be dragon slayers: one strength potion is enough. Keep clicking "attack" or you'll never get a blow in. And most of all, bring cash to buy yourself a ticket home!
