well I almost got killed down there... and I teleported out... now when I go back it is dark.... what am I to do??

Get the light source again and go back down.

The problem with ranging him is that there are a lot of places for him to teleport to that will require you to move to get into his line of site. And since you will be wearing D-hides instead of Rune, you will be taking more damage when you chase him. So I recommend a hard hitting weapon, Rune armor, Super Attack, Super Strength, and Super Energy pots, and lots of good food (and a 1 click tele). May be overkill, but it is very easy to die down there if you aren't fully prepared.
