Couple Of Questions For Anyone..

I'm making a ranger and I'm undecided about a couple of things. First off, to wear a green d'hide body I need to beat dragon slayer. Now I don't want a complete pure but I don't want to have strength and if I beat dragon slayer it gives strength experience. So let me ask should I beat dragon slayer even though it makes me gain strength experience? I'm already training prayer as well as defense so would it really matter if I wanted to use this guy for Pking? And if you think I should go ahead and raise it, should I raise attack to? And what about mage? Should I get a decent mage level to so I can teleport? Please leave your thoughts.

See I'm not neccessarily trying to be a pure but would it be good if I wanted to use this guy to PK to raise my attack, strength, and magic levels somewhat? Or should I sacrafice being able to wear green dragonhide so I don't raise my strength? What would you do?

Raising your strength or attack effect your combat lvl if your range level is high enough, so if you plan on getting a fairly high range lvl, you should go ahead and do dragon slayer. And yes, you should raise your magic level as well, since as long as it is below your range lvl, it wont effect your cb lvl either.

Duh I forgot about that. Ok that sounds good. If you look back at this what mage, attack, and strength levels would you recommend Shadow?

Your mage level should be very near range lvl, as that will give you more mage def, and more hp from training it. As for attack and str, they really depend on your range lvl. If you're getting very high range, then you would probably want 40 att, and as high of str as you can get without raising your cb lvl.

I'm not much of a pker, so I'm sure someone else will be able to give you more advice.

That's kind of what I was thinking. I used Rune Tips combat calculator and saw that if I raised attack to 40, strength to 70, magic to 60, ranged to 75, prayer to 45, defense to 40, and I estimated hitpoints around 75 my combat level would be level 70. If I just raised the stats I originally I had planned (check my sig for them) I would've only been 7 or 8 combat levels lower and would've sacraficed being able to wear green d'hide, being able to teleport, having a back up plan if something went wrong like Englandman mentioned me perhaps running out of arrows, and etc.

So I think those will be my new goal stats. What do you and anyone else who read this think? My combat level would still be ranged based.

I might raise my mage a little more I just thought 60 was good at first because that would allow me to cast the best spell F2P can which is Fire Blast. But I could raise it to 65 like you mentioned so I can get more mage protection and still be level 70 combat range based.
